I really have to start cooking dinner, but a picture update is better than nothing... right?! So I don't remember the last thing I posted! Since everyone was together during the holidays, I won't post any of those pictures unless there is a special request. I'll just highlight what's been going on over the past month!
Jack's birthday was January 6th and we celebrated with the Tompkins while everyone was home. His birthday fell on a Tuesday, so his request was to stay home and relax together. I pampered the birthday boy and cooked him dinner. We had a nice evening. My parents had us over to celebrate on Friday. Jack requested black beans and rice, pork, and yuca - everything was delicious! My mom made an upside down pineapple cake since his desserts are limited!
Here's the birthday boy! Do you like the candle?
We surprised Jack by having Chris and Vera over for dinner.
Our wedding anniversary was the 20th. Since it was a long weekend (being Martin Luther King day) we were originally going to stay in a family condo on Miami Beach. However, our baby's heartbeat situation conflicted with our trip so we changed our plans. We decided to stay in a hotel on St. Pete Beach. It was very special since that was where Jack proposed! We had a very nice time!! The weather was great, somewhere in the 50's. We definitely looked like Floridians wearing our light sweaters while those notherners were sunbathing!!
Here we are at Carrabba's for our anniversary dinner. Between my discount and a $20 gift card, our bill came to $1.80 or something. Ha!
Relaxing on a beach cabana!
Now for a pregnancy and baby update! As you all know by now, we're having a baby girl - Isabella Marie! We are so excited! She already has Jack wrapped around her little finger. She's already our precious little sweetheart and we can't wait to hold her and kiss her all over! As you know, we've had a rough few weeks not knowing what was going on with her heart. Long story short; her heart rate was in the 70's rather than 120-160 beats per minute. We saw a specialist who was thinking she had a heart block (meaning her right chamber was not communicating properly with the AV node which disperses the heartbeat) which could possibly mean she'd have a pacemaker or medicine once she's born. He referred us to a Pediatric Cardiologist for a second opinion. Thankfully he said she did not have a heart block and no treatment was necessary. Her heart was just consistently throwing out an extra heartbeat; the reason was unknown. Today we had a follow-up appointment and her heart rate is back to normal, 140 bpm! And there were no extra beats! We are so thrilled with this news!! Thank you for all your prayers! Please continue to keep us in your prayers - we're hoping the heart rate will stay this way. Here's a recent picture of our baby girl. Oh and I'm feeling her kick! I love it so much!
Now a few pregnant lady pictures. Unfortunately, my belly is growing at a very slow pace! Here I am at 12 weeks.
I thought this was a cute/funny picture of Marisa and I. She was 22 weeks and I was 14 weeks. I laugh because it looks like I'm thinking "I wish I was pregnant"!That's pretty much what we've been up to. This post was longer than I expected! Now time for dinner :)! I hope everyone is doing well. We love you and miss you all so much! We can't wait to see everyone again! You're in our prayers.
Love,
Jack, Christina, & Baby Isabella
