So, as you may know, my first official drink was at a bar/lounge in the resort and I had a Long Island Ice Tea with Dad. It tasted great and there were no after effects. haha
On Sunday, Jack and Christina and CHris and Mike came over to our house for food, cake, and gifts. As usual, everyone was very generous. From Chris and Mike, I got a Ray's t-shirt, two back packs, a wireless mouse, a chord that hooks up to the tv, and $40. From Jack and CHristina, I got a nice polo and a sweet looking white t shirt of batman's face made up of black bats. So, I was pretty happy! IT was a great day!
And, on Monday - Andrew Mullally, Ryan Reeves, and Greg Miles drove down from Ave to celebrate and spend the night at our house. We went bowling with Jack, Chris, Mike, Ryan Wiliford, Andrew, Reeves, and Greg. It was a lot of fun...we played until the place closed and had a few pitchers of beer. Then, we went back home and watched movies until 5 am in the morning and it was a blast! So, needless to say, we woke up really late on Tuesday and we just hung out and played video games the rest of the day until they left at 9. Dad cooked his famous cheeseburgers and they tasted great as usual.

Tompkins Family Wedding pics!

Mary and Ryan-- VA update :)
Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know (with the help of some pictures) that Ryan and I did not drop off the face of the earth after the honeymoon. We have been really busy these last couple of weeks relocating to Manassas, VA and searching for jobs. We are now staying at my sister Tabitha's house, which you can see here:
and we are doing quite well. I actually have very little pictures from the past two weeks, which is, as you know, a little unlike me. All of Ryan's and my energy and attention has been focused on the job search now that the move is half over. After the honeymoon we stayed at my parents house, to pack up my stuff as well as open our wedding presents, which we never got around to doing. Here is Ryan with the gifts:
Raquel helped us open them; Ryan recorded who gave what into his computer, and I mainly just pretended the ribbons were scarves for me to wear.
This gift from my Aunt Raquel was particularly unique; it is a handmade table cloth from Cuba. She was able to go there recently, and visit the Suarez roots there. Ryan and I are excited to put this tablecloth in our own place someday, to remind us of our Cuban heritage!
She also went to Russia two weeks before the wedding--she likes to travel! Knowing that I am a big fan of Russia (especially its literature!), she brought back some Russian items to put in our home: candlesticks, a spoon, and a Russian faberge egg with an icon of the Blessed Mother on it:
Our marriage lisence arrived in the mail that day too!
Then we packed the car and headed to Tabitha and Babu's. The first night here Ryan helped the kids build a pretty sweet tower with wooden blocks.
They were very proud of their accomplishment, as you can see.
On Saturday we got to go to the girls' swim meet in the morning. Elisabeth is particularly fond of Uncle Ryan, even though she likes to tease him a lot and call him names like Aunt Ryan and bald ugly kitten.
Every so often, when no one is around to see, Elisabeth will stop teasing Ryan and calling him names, and tell him that she doesnt mean it. She told Ryan "I'm glad Aunt Mary got you, Uncle Ryan. I don't mean it when I say I don't like you. I really love you."
Here I am with my goddaughter, Mary, after she placed first in the breast-stroke! All 3 of the girls won at least one race; I was very proud and I think I embarrassed them with my cheering and picture taking.

Our first Saturday night here, Tabitha and Babu took us out to dinner. It was really fun to go on a double date with my older sister, who I am really close to. I'm close to Babu too...I've known him since I was 6! We took turns taking "cutesy" couple pictures. Here's ours:
After dinner we picked up my niece Teresa from an outting with a friend she knows through her horseback riding lessons. Her friends parents took her to a polo match; which Ryan and I got to watch for a while as the parents talked. It was a first for both Ryan and me, and we thought it was pretty cool! Here's a not-so-great picture:
And finally, here's a picture of Ryan in our room at Tabitha's. We are very cozy here, and the kids love having us, so it is a nice place to be before we get jobs and our own apartment. Thank God for family! They are always there to watch out for you. Here is Ryan in his signature position as he applies for jobs in the area.
Please keep up the prayers that the jobs come together soon! While Ryan's job is the number one priority, I am working on getting one too, by applying at all the Catholic grammar schools in the area-- there are many! So far Ryan has made some good contacts, and has begun interviewing, which is exciting. Yesterday, we got a call back from a company called Immix Group, and their Sr. recruiter was ready to see Ryan for an interview in the afternoon. We accidently left Ryan's suits back at my house, and so we rushed out to Macy's to get Ryan a suit for the interview. We ended up buying a navy blue Ralph Lauren jacket to match his dress pants, just in time to make it to the interview. It looks great on Ryan... in fact, he looks like a million bucks in it.. which is pretty much what we paid for it, relatively speaking. The interview went well enough for Ryan to get a second interview with the guys who do the actual hiring; that should be later this week. I'll keep you posted on the progress of the job search. In the meantime, please keep on praying! Speaking of prayers, I'm happy to announce that my mom's surgery yesterday to remove the tumor was successful. She will be in the hospital for a long recovery, but is in very good hands with the doctors there, and my dad as well who took the week off to be with her. Thanks so much for praying for her... it means the world. We'll talk to you guys soon-- you're all in our thoughts and prayers!

Love the Pictures
David and I's One Year Anniversary!
Here are some pictures from David and I's One Year Wedding Anniversary!
We celebrated the weekend (May 16th - 18th) at a quaint old mansion that has been turned into a bed and breakfast in downtown Grand Haven, Michigan. We had a wonderful weekend relaxing, and enjoying the cute downtown area and beautiful Lake Michigan. We have been meaning to share these pictures with all of you, so enjoy!
When we got to our room, David surprised me with a beautiful poem about our one year together he wrote himself, and the most gorgeous red rose I have ever seen!
