The Power of Scientology

I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to think we missed the boat for Scientology. If you get this power after only being a level 3 Scientologist, then I'm thinking this just might be for me.

Important Safety Reminder

Just a friendly reminder from Cecilia that you should always stretch your hamstrings before, during, and after bathing:

Jack as Superman

Actually, I think this Superman MANtage is more accurate for you.

Marisa - Anyone remember playing soccer with Marisa? Watch #15 in the red jersey till the end.

Joseph - Vintage video hidden away in Ave Maria's archives of Joe's first musical try out

Robby - Remember when Robby would get mad and no one would understand a word he said? Well now he's had the last word and he's started a multi-million dollar program to teach his language.

Not for Children

Warning: The "A" Word is used, but it is just our president...so it's all good.

Our Fathers' Day weekend

Here is a little picture recap of our Fathers' Day weekend. We kicked off the weekend early by meeting for a lunch date on Friday afternoon. As you can see, Cecilia thinks she is a big kid now and can eat french fries; she also took wearing her Burger King crown very seriously.
With Daddy:
Friday night was exciting due to the fact that Cecilia crawled a few paces for the first time. There aren't any pictures from Saturday; after Ryan babysat so I could attend my sister's (belated) baby shower, we just took it easy, ate a lot of yummy foods, went to the pool, and relaxed. On Sunday, Cecilia was very naughty during Mass so I had to take her outside. I sat her on the grass and she began to crawl a little more:Afterwards we took it easy at home and Ryan and Cecilia got a lot of time together while I prepared the Cuban dinner that Ryan had requested. Here they are reading books together. There are few things that make Cecilia happier than having Daddy read her books; Ryan always keeps it interesting by changing up his voice and using various foreign accents. After Cecilia's bath, we put her in her "I love DAD" onesie and had some delicious strawberry shortcake. I also forced Ryan to talk about fatherhood and his experience of being a dad this past year. It was a very low-key, relaxing weekend; a very nice Fathers' Day celebration for us. Now to the exciting part: a video of Cecilia crawling. She makes us so proud!

I hope everyone else's Fathers' Day weekend was just as relaxing and satisfying. What great dads we have in our family!

Back to March - YIKES!

I cannot believe it has been that long since I've posted pictures! Here are a ton of pictures from March - May. My goal is to update the blog each month... we'll see how that goes! There hasn't been anything exciting over here since Sanibel vacation. Boring as that may sound :). And we're still dragging right along with this lawsuit. We're still in the process of answer questions back and forth and providing documents. It is such a pain and too much work! We just hope it ends in our favor. Please continue to pray for us!

We love and miss you all! Now on to the slideshow :)...

A good week for the VA Tompkins family

This past week has been a good one for the VA Tompkins family, culminating with the purchase of our new car, which I will get to in a minute. First I have a slide show of pictures of the week's activities. Our pool opened so Cecilia and I have been spending a lot of time there. She loves it so much! She also loves having her Aunt Teresa in town, as do I, and we have gotten to spend a lot of time with her. This past Friday was my friend Liesl's wedding, and I was honored to be part of the wedding party. It was a really beautiful wedding and I'm so happy for my friend! Thanks to Teresa's babysitting, I was able to spend the afternoon baby-free riding around in a limo, watching other people drink champagne, and taking lots of photo shoots which, as we all know, is one of my favorite activities. Ryan, Cecilia and I were all reunited as a family for the reception and had a wonderful time dancing the night away to some great oldies music. Today Ryan and I celebrated our new car with a special Sunday brunch, and then spent the afternoon at the pool. Life sure is good!
After spending a lot of time researching and struggling with getting reasonable financing rates (since we are first time borrowers), and worrying about our current car blowing up, Ryan and I were finally able to buy a new car. We had decided that it was time we got rid of our 2001 Elantra because it was becoming an occasion of sin for us; we felt way too cool driving in it and it became a cause for vanity and pride. Instead we will be driving the fine automobile you see below. The one we ended up getting was actually found by my sister-in-law Sarah, who recommended the Pontiac G6, which she drives. It is a used, blue, 2008 G6 with 37,800 miles on it, never been in an accident, and has a lot of extras, such as a leather interior and sun roof. We really like it!

Now we just need help with name ideas for the car. Our first car we named Rusty. What do you think we should name the Pontiac?
