Christian Skit

You may have seen this skit already, but I came across it and thought I'd share it with you guys. I know it made me think of the sin in my life and what I can do to grow closer to Christ - always a good thing to do, but even more so during Holy Week. Love you guys!

In The Beginning...

....there was a blog. I'm here.

Her first taste of a lemon

Cecilia tries to eat whatever we eat now...maybe this will make her think twice next time.

Some recent Cecilia videos

I just uploaded these recent videos of Cecilia onto our computer and I thought I might as well post them for those of you who have not seen her recently. This video was taken to illustrate the effect Simon has on Cecilia. She loves him so SO much!

Words from Stephen Colbert, a Prophet!

Hello everyone! We thought you all would get a kick out of this report from Colbert on Catholic social doctrine. Here's the link...

Too funny!

I wanted to share a video with you guys. It ended up at the bottom, so you'll have to enjoy a few pictures first :). These were taken over the last few days. Here's Isabella spending some time in one of the many boxes in our home.

Jack put together our hammock - thanks Mom & Dad! We love it!

And this is what the video has to do with. I was taking off her outfit and it kind of got stuck like this and we thought it looked so funny! Jack took a short video of it - she seemed to like her headpiece!

February update

Hello Tompkins family! We have really been enjoying the updates from David and Marisa and Jack and Christina. It's so fun to see pictures of our beautiful nieces and see them grow up right before our eyes. We cannot wait to see them in action at Sanibel! It's going to be such a great party.
We have a ton of pictures (as always) from the last month but here are some highlights to show you all what we have been up to. Here is Cecilia making me proud with her soccer skills: Cecilia's 4 month check up went very well. She now weighs over 16 lbs. and her height and weight are both in the 75th percentile. Personally I think they measured her a little shorter than she actually is, but oh well.
She loves bathtime. She wraps her legs around things now, as you can see.
Some pictures of Cecilia with her cousins who live nearby. With Sheila (13 months old):
And Simon (17 months). I don't know why this picture came in sideways. Simon loves Cecilia SO much, he is so sweet to her.
Cecilia is working on sitting up by herself, but she tends to fall over a lot. She does, however, try to play it cool and act as if she meant to do that. She just sorta casually plays it off as if she prefers the fallen-over position. I tried to catch it on camera:
See, she just wanted to rest her head!
Sitting up:
But then decided to rest on her Boppy.
She is almost better at grabbing her toys with her toes rather than her hands. I think it's so adorable:
We call them her monkey toes, she could swing from tree branches with them:
Another toe-grabbing picture. This one makes me laugh because she was telling her toys a sad story.
Making the bed with Mommy:
She looked so cute in her Sunday Mass outfit but she did not want to smile for the camera. Perhaps she does get tired of getting her picture taken sometimes:
Can you tell Ryan picked out this onesie?
Now for the biggest update of all: our new TV! Ryan has been researching for a while now (ever since our previous TV became self-aware and starting spontaneously turning on and off on) and we found a sale we could not resist. Here is one happy Ryan when we arrived home from the store:
The finished product:Cecilia helping Daddy set up the settings:
Cecilia hanging out with Daddy while he watches a movie on the new TV:
Later on that night Ryan was playing with Cecilia in the other room, and at one point I heard Ryan start to scream like a little girl and so I rushed in. This is what I found:
As you can see Cecilia is a handful and she keeps us busy and very happy. It is now time for me to put her to bed so I better wrap this up. We cannot wait to see you all in Sanibel in just a few months!! Much love, Ryan, Mary and Cecilia.
