Videos

We have learned Veronica has two sides that differ greatly. She is such a happy, smiley baby. But boy does she have a temper! Here is a quick video of how she acted when all Mommy was trying to do was nourish her! We just had to get it on camera to show her several years down the road. Warning - she's loud!

The girls were spending a little bit of time together before bedtime. This clip was from the beginning of their time together...

and this clip was near the end of their time together. Veronica was constantly crawling on Isabella. What Isabella decided to do about it had me laughing!

We have been teaching Isabella some simple signs for her to be able to communicate with us. Here are a few of them, we think it's adorable. I had to break it up into two videos because it wouldn't let me upload it as one. Sorry for the moving camera, Veronica was climbing on me.

I wanted to include this one because of her trying to sign I love you at the end.

Here is a video of Veronica's latest accomplishment. She started crawling on her Daddy's birthday and pulling herself up to a standing position shortly after!

The One You Need

I heard this song on the radio and it really hit me. Not only because of our situation with Isabella, but also me being Christ's child. Thought some of you would enjoy the song, if you haven't already heard it :).
Love you all!

December & January

Happy New Year Tompkins Family!

I am very sorry our posts have been missing in action. However, we love seeing everyone else's posts and pictures! Ryan and Mary, your new baby is a treasure; such a miracle! We cannot wait to meet him/her as well Joe and Nicolette's baby! It's funny because this year's babies are due at the same time as last year's babies.

Jack and Christina, I loved your pictures from the March for Life 11 years ago to your wedding picture 5 years ago! I feel so privileged to have been there in a special way at both events and to continually witness your love flourish and deepen. You are a beautiful couple!!

Our first Christmas at home was very joyful and peaceful. We enjoyed being together as a family and starting our traditions. We did however miss seeing all of you, although Skype served as a small substitute, and hearing the beautiful Christmas music being played on the piano and sung with jolly hearts!

This past month has been very busy and eventful for us. Vanessa came to visit us while David went to a conference in DC to present a paper that was very well received! We had a wonderful time with her, playing games and spending quality time together, and she was a huge help with the girls. Sofia loved having Vanessa here! She followed her around everywhere, even into the bathroom because our bathroom door does not lock, which prompted a conversation about privacy. After we were done explaining the importance of privacy, Vanessa asked Sofia, "Do you understand what privacy is?" Sofia replied very assuredly, "Privacy is a woman!"

The privacy talk was very timely as Sofia potty trained herself a couple weeks later! She loves wearing big girl underwear as well as telling her boy friend, Gregory, that she needs privacy when she goes to the potty.

Natalia is sitting up and rolling over now! And she is still as chubby and smiley as ever!

We love you all very much and are looking forward to seeing all of you in May for Sanibel! XOXO

Now here are our pictures from the past month.

Our Baby #4

Just wanted to share a little sneak peak of the newest Tompkins baby, due August 16th! Here is a sonogram picture from yesterday: she/he is at 10 weeks. We are a quarter of the way there but are already SO impatient to meet this little one!
I know I'm biased, but isn't the baby so adorable??

Our pictures :)

Here is our family's Christmas photos; brace yourself, there are lots and lots! Minus Ryan Jr.'s accident and the awful ER trip that ensued, we had a wonderful time in Albany at my parents' house. I was able to see all of my siblings (minus the two other Virginians), Ryan played plenty of video games with the guys, and the kids enjoyed playing with many of their cousins. We came home on Friday and enjoyed a quiet weekend at home, and enjoyed seeing the Tompkins family on skype on New Years Eve. We loved seeing you all and really enjoy the pictures on the Blog (thanks Christina!). We anxiously await more pictures (*cough cough* Joe and Nicolette, Lantiguas *cough*). Happy New Year!
